Malkin's Box

Malkin, pseudonym of Valentina Baldin (Borgomanero, 22 April 1991), is an italian fantasy fine art professional photographer based in Verbania, on the Lake Maggiore.

Ever since she was little, she always loved tales of fanciful characters and her family has always incited her imagination, showing her the world with different eyes.

Original cosplayer since 2010, she took her first portrait photographs in 2014 to get in the game, receiving unexpectedly many positive feedbacks. 

She participated in several workshops, held by Giada Laiso, about fantasy storytelling from which she will take inspiration to create her own personal style.

In 2016 she began to engage in wedding photography, events and concerts and in 2017 she decided to open a business as a professional under the name Lavender Stories Photography.

In 2019 she opened Malkin's Box to dedicate herself to her passion: fine art, fantasy and fairytale photography.

Her works are inspired by mythology, legends and folklore, as well as fairytales, cinema, literature and paintings.  

Malkin is her alter ego, with whom she signs fine-art and fantasy storytelling projects.

Malkin's Box was born from the union of this alter with the idea of Pandora's Box. It represents Valentina's creativity: she usually calls herself  "volcano of ideas".
